Dear God

 

Dear God, I call on you this dawn.

My mind is tangled up again, and I feel worn.

I thought I was over this, but here it is again.

Stealing my peace of mind, driving me insane.

I want to save myself, keep the joy in me.

But I’m in a war, with an enemy I can’t see.

I want to stand tall, I want to be tough.

Then somehow I think, I’ll never be enough.

I want to be strong, but the tears still fall.

I start to think, I can’t handle it all.

But maybe I don’t have to do it all.

If I give me to you, then I will never fall.

I will be strong, I’ll finally be enough.

All I have to do is, have faith in your love.

You will never leave me, you are always here.

As long as you're in me, I have nothing to fear.

You take over my soul, and make me brand new.

I don't have all I want, but I'm glad I have you.
