A Promise in Their Eyes

A letter to my best friends, the Bandana Squad. ;) There's no way I could ever put down on paper the depth of our friendship, but this is a good try.

Dear DTB, Fishy, Fite, Kevinicus, and Jackson,

 

Six souls, hearts, and minds.

Forever in a trance of 

love they can't find. 

One day a smile

after rehearsed time.

I can't explain you

the five that guide

my beating heart. 

A bond without touch

kiss, sigh or rhyme.

There are two 

who've held me longest

caught my tears and

made me strongest.

The lovable pair

have a story or two.

Nestled in my embrace

there they remain

until my last breath through.

A solo character

of secrets and charm

traced his way closer

left trails of kisses

ensuring his path back to my arms.

Theres a bond in our eyes

blue, brown, hazel or hazed

a promise of friendship

that we will never replace.
