Cigarette

Cigarette

A Poem by Avery James

You’re just like a

Cigarette,

As soon as you’re
gone
I want another one yet.
All I’m left with is a
Smoldering pile of

ashes.

Well this kind of reminds me of my ex sometime into our marriage lol. I really liked this one.

Really great imagery. Short but I like it that way, wouldn't change it if I could, very straight to the point.

All too real... I can relate to the sentiment of this piece. At first read I felt that this might be a little "choppy" in terms of flow, but as I read it again I rather liked the line breaks where they were, as they placed a certain importance on words that I feel really evoked feeling. Short, simple, and yet complex in nature...
