Chill of Neglect

Chill of Neglect

A Poem by Avery James

It’s a strange feeling, to be given up on.
You remember their every smile,
while they think of their every frown.
Long nights and even shorter days,
Who really calls it quits?
Is it you,
The one who let it go unnoticed?
Or them,
Who,
In malignance,
Left the window open and let the cool breeze
of neglect trace your sleeping lips?

Part Two:
It was you who brought on this winter.
You accepted that long ago.
You fight for spring,
Shorts and flip flops.
Please take me back.
You know I get so lonely in the winter.
The chill eats me from the inside
And all I think of is the sun.

Hey,I like the idea of ''Part.2'' and the use of ''winter'', but it the way you confess everything in few verses, makes the the poem seem mediocre.
Anywayz, it's pretty good read :) .Thx for posting in the ''Gray'' contest.
