Although at Elden Ring Runes first, the footage made it appear that the wall could have been a deliberate design however, some players and experts are now suggesting that the strange wall could be an issue or a mistake left within the game's code by the game's creators.

The well-known Dark Souls hacker Zullie seemingly verified this notion--that it was an error that was made by the developers via a short Twitter thread. The hackers explained that after probing the game's data and digging into the fake wall they found the door's door display 9999 hit points. It's similar to the unbreakable objects found in Dark Souls having 999 HP. However, those items also have 999 defense which means they do not take the brunt of any attack. They are only broken through in-game triggers or events scripted by the devs.

"The Elden Ringwall is being constructed as a destructible thing, however, having 9999 HP as well as no fade-out animation means it was very likely designed to be destroyed by the event's script" Zullie explained Zullie through Twitter. "Though it's hard to tell if they were able to smudge that out or if it's bugged. It should definitely have 9999 defense though."Illusory Wall, another well-known Dark Souls expert who also believed that the fake wall was unintentional, backed up Zullie's discoveries and agreed with Elden Ring Runes buy their theories about the wall.
