Am I awake?

This poem is about how we look at the badness in the world

Everyday it is the same morning

Because it is the same boring

 

The moment I go to bed

I sleep and dream

The moment I wake up

I dread like I am depressed

 

When I go through out the day

I wonder if it is the same day

Like yesterday

 

Sometimes it is a different day

Because the world is crazy

 

Crime flows through the river of peace

Floods rage like a bull being out of place

Storms crash in places like a car on a highway

Tragedy happens like it is everyday

 

Every time I watch TV

Every time I listen to the radio

Every time I read the newspaper

Every time I look up on the Internet

I must wonder to myself

Am I awake?

Or is this just a dream?

 

Because sometimes situations feel like a nightmare

Only this time it never ends

 

But the truth is in the light

The world is what it is

We cannot change it

Unless the world changes

Or we convince it to change

 

Every situation is a nightmare

What do you do?

Get through it

And make it like a good dream in the end

For the light gives hope and truth
