Blood, Bullets, Flowers, and Dinners

This is a close examination into the world of romance and military. This is both funny and dark at the same time.

Love and War 

The two make a unfanadoble mix 

To be in the military, 

is strength 

It takes blood and guts to pass the training 

The heart is the leading morale, 

to America's most elite fighting forces

Heroes aren't born 

They're made 

Through steel muscles, strong hearts, and great minds 

Wars are a time of endurance 

And whatever place it lands, 

it's rough 

With graphic fighting and intense weapon battles 

Lucky, you may come home in one piece 

Unlucky, then it's a coffin, 

painted with the American color 

Knowing it stands for something 

For everything that's worth fighting for, 

is love 

Love is unavoidable 

The connections is so strong that, 

it cannot be severed 

The American hero has someone

Someone to fight for 

A wife or a lover 

A love for an American soldier 

Aphrodite meets the warrior Ares 

The combative masculine with the charming femine 

Through brutal combat and bloody battles with bullets 

Comes dinner, movie, flowers, sensual love making, and blossom rekindling 

The military meeting romance 

The heavy heart in the American Soldier 

The Aphrodite beauty molded with the lover 

Love and War 

A mixture between military and romance 

    

   

 

 

Author's Note

The lines for Aphrodite and Ares is a symbolic pattern of falling in love with a soldier. Because the Aphrodite archetype prefers the men who have combativeness, which are soldiers.

This is a heartwarming poem. And like you said, I can sense the light and the dark. There is nothing but dark with war and love brings the best it us. I liked how you incorporated Greek Mythology, it gave the poem a special flare.
