Taking back her crown

Taking back her crown

A Poem by Avelina

She has taken off her crown
so many jewels have fallen off
She doesn't cast it aside with anger nor sneer, only fear, to protect the last few gems

I don't think it's because she was too much or not enough
or right or wrong

Simply to protect what was left and to remind herself that she can carry the weight of so much more

each true smile
each loving touch
each fiery intent
when her love is lent and returned
with each defense
A piece of jewel is restored
and the weight goes up as does the value of her selfworth to herself

It isn't because she feels the jewels make her worth something or that she needs a crown to feel complete

To her it's meeting the challenge and seeing the results when she overcomes defeat, small reminders for big conquests

She has taken back her crown

Sometimes we take the selfless people, for granted in our lives.
Majestic yet relatable.

Enjoyed it.
