Every lovable idiot is never called with their real name. Take your own example, the list goes on, right? Even your parents who gave you your name, will never call you by your real name. At home you will have a pet name, at school you will have a nickname, at college most probably you will have a bad name. After marriage you get a surname, if you are a writer you opt a pen name and if you are famous, you become a stage name. At the end you forget your own real name which you have to rename.
The concept is good and is a rare thought no doubt. However, there are a few mistakes and especially crucial ones as per the context...
Surname: First, it is a single word and secondly this is not the one which one gets after marriage. Surname is indeed a the name (last name as we call) which is inherited from my family.
Example: My name is Dipanjan Dutta where Dutta is my surname. Being a male by no chance I am going to get a name after marriage but still I hold a surname now and will always hold it
Same goes with pen name. This has nothing to do with death. It is an assumed name taken up by writers instead of their real names.
I honestly did like the context but these mistakes somehow supressed the approach. Please consider revising and let me know if I am mistaken somewhere.

i do agree with you frnd, well the surname part was for the girls which after the marriage gets chan.. read morei do agree with you frnd, well the surname part was for the girls which after the marriage gets changed and ofcourse the pen name was meant for the writers , i agree need to change.
Careful, anyone that agrees with you here is agreeing to being a 'lovable idiot'. If I thought what people called me impacted or reflected my intelligence, then I truly would be an idiot. This may need a new angle.
I find myself reading between the lines here or mabe is a cultural thing. Though true about the name giving at school. It is so badly frowned upon over here that it is not allowed, found offensive and derogatory. So I am not sure if that is the angle of this writing. However if it heading towards finding your true nature then is some leap that one would have to make.
Sorry I am bit a lost here.
Thankyou
