The wedding bell

The wedding bell

A Poem by Avalonya

The norm of the older folks:
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.
Its a constant reminder of what a wedding is.
Yet as the centuries passed, it was renewed,
not the way the older folks wanted
nor the way it was ruled.
It probably for the better that later,
I'll never know or experience something so blue.
Wedding were once romantic,
weddings were once a joyous occasion.
But I guess as time went by
It was all just a fragment of my imagination.
Oh how I yearned for it,
but truth be told, it would never be,
But only a mere dream without innocent
or any bride to be.
Although, I must admit
I'm one crazy girl
to ever think that I could be apart of
such a deam,
with wedding bells and red roses
and a handsome husband to be.
So as the bell continued to ring
on someone else's dream,
I just stood there and waved
as they began their beautiful journey.
