night

night

A Poem by AvalonJune
"

another scribble.. this time about night hours and the inspiration it brings

"

Black cryptic night.

Blushing street lights.

Empty lanes.

Lonely music lost in the breeze.

Mystery, romance.

I leave the city.

Steal up the grassy hills,

Find the secret place

Alone in a green meadow.

Strawberry flowers for a pillow.

A crisp, cool breeze soothes my skin.

Look up to

A canopy of sparkles,

A sea of black,

Ribbons of light

Light up the sky.

I enjoy the magic that

Night brings.

I smile to myself.

I do not understand

Why people wallow in dreams

In their beds at this hour.

Inspiration flows best during

The darkest and most alluring

Hours.

Ah a good write! I like the flow of this peice and its layout is well done. Each line stops at a good place. I love the line about stealing up the grassy hills. Nice job.
