i wish

I wish I could stop this feeling inside,

And contain it in a bottle.

Then I would sail to the middle of the ocean,

And pour each drop into the sea.

Let it drink up my worries and obsessions…

But I can’t help seeing those other girls

With eyes so large and beautiful,

Moon blue orbs of forget-me-not petals.

And cute little noses- fragile and dusted

With a few freckles dropped from the sun,

And lush lips, flushed and full…..

I try to be content,

I try… but I fail.

I can’t help wishing.
