Earthbound

Earthbound

A Poem by Avale
"

My third sonnet, this one in iambic pentameter. :)

"
Burn your wings to dust on the frozen ground
Relent to your fears in the darkness found
Damn your soul to the depths where you have drowned
Among the waves, no shore to run aground
Denied by the light. You, the king uncrowned
Here you will remain, forever earthbound
In darkness reborn, to malice you're bound
A starry cloak, in their glory you're gowned
Hair of ash, haunting beauty that astounds
From the depth's of God's wrath you rise, renowned
To build your church on the burial ground
Lambs among the lion, forever bound
Defying the light. You, the king now crowned
Here you will reign forever more, earthbound
