Mortuus Est Interius

Mortuus Est Interius

A Poem by Avale
"

My first attempt at a sonnet. My first attempt at writing in iambic trimeter. My first poem with a Latin title.... Lots of firsts

"

They call to me at night

A siren’s song so sweet

Laced with subtle deceit

To face the dead inside

A light they won’t abide

Don’t anguish in defeat

Wage war, remove, unseat

Silence the dead inside

Embrace the all-time low

Everlasting, in you

Only you can decide

Drown in the undertow

Fall and forget what’s true

Embrace the dead inside
