The Color of LoveA Poem by Autumn Dawn RidgeWhat is the color of love? Is it crimson like a rose Or, white like the winged dove Does it glitter like gold The color wondrous to behold Perhaps, a color yet to be told---- What is the color of my love?
What is the color of my soul? When our hands meet and hold I can see ripples through time Poetry, prose and rhyme Oceans vast and waters deep Through cracks time seeps Waves part, but you’re still mine
What is the color of love? Is it deep like the amethyst sea Or, blue like the heavens above Sapphire, azure and teal These are the colors that I feel Are they just variations on a theme? Why not the hues of passion's dream In vivid plums, fuchsia and aubergines Do you still question my love is true? Clearly you can see this is no clever ruse In emerald greens and turquoise blues A lovelier shade that removes all doubt Is surely in bright and bold chartreuse It’s a color that nobody knows Some say it’s the color of prose When two lover’s hands do hold A color that never grows old--- One that never falls out of vogue That is the color of my love © 2018 Autumn Dawn RidgeReviews
