They SayA Poem by Autumn RaineThey say smile. But I frown. They say keep your head up. But I look down.
They say it’s okay. But it’s actually not. They say keep peace. But I’ve still fought.
They say be happy. But I’m still sad. They say control your anger. But I still get mad.
They say love. But I still hate. They say follow your dreams. But I don’t believe in fate.
They say cherish life. But it’s something I despise. They say tell the truth. But I’m covered in lies.
They say be strong. But I always cry. No matter what they say. I still want to die. © 2017 Autumn RaineAuthor's Note
