When I meet you

When I meet you

A Poem by Jordan Smith

Dear destiny,

When I meet you
on that fateful day
there will be no question

When I meet you
under a beautiful night sky
the stars will align

When I meet you
on our first date
your smile will shine brightest

When I meet you
on our first road trip
your personality will sing loudest

When I meet you
in our first argument
your love will scream loudest

When I meet you
with our first hand hold
your confidence will be known

When I meet you
in our first embrace
your warmth will spread through all

When I meet you
and i'm on my knee
there will be only one question

When I meet you
from our first kiss
your lips will seal our love

When I meet you
on that fateful day
there will be no question

You will be the one I marry
for better or for worse,
in sickness and in health

'til death do us part
for as long as we
both shall live.

Signed,

Fate

I wrote this poem as a letter. Not my usual writing style, but I figured I could change it up a little and try something new. Let me know what you think about it!

An interesting take on destiny and embracing that which is meant to be. Meant to be and destiny, it goes hand in hand. So to see you write about destiny as a love, it's a good parallel. Reader left to wonder if Destiny is a name or the idea of fated life. Love it.

A unique read, I liked the letter styling from Fate to Destiny.

Thank you Jessalynn. I appreciate it! This was one I remember being really proud of back in the day .. read more
I didn't know quite what to make of this. Is it you embracing your destiny? Or given the signature, is it a fateful meeting between and destiny? If so, what is the outcome? Or is it a description of a fated romance?
Or am I missing the point entirely?
