In case you missed it, below is the official trailer for Launch Pad: Volume I! We hope you enjoy and be sure to grab your copy of this first anthology when pre-orders start in a month!!
You might be taking things just a little too seriously right now and setting yourself up for failure.
It'd probably be a good idea to get published a few times in a respectable medium before you go for gimmicks like this. This is akin to applying for a surgical position before you even went to medical school.
What you're trying to do with this is an exercise in vanity. Don't be that guy.

I'm giving writers the opportunity to have their work published in a book and want to be able to give people the opportunity to get their copy of the book before it officially releases.
There is nothing wrong with that, especially when this is going through my self publishing company.

It's not hard to see through that BS.
You're not trying to help anyone, you're trying.. read moreIt's not hard to see through that BS.
You're not trying to help anyone, you're trying to please your ego.
In what world would "publishing" with you be better than submitting work to respected poetry journals? You're not established, you have no industry clout, you have no following, you have no recognition of any kind. You're trying to use others work to placate your pretend "publishing company". Have you ever heard of Submittable?
It's easy to see that this is a vanity project for yourself. That you are pretending otherwise is something you should be ashamed of... and if you really are that clueless... have you ever heard of Submittable?
But whatever man... do what you gotta do... he reality of what you're trying to do will hit you sooner than later.
Also, this is not a vanity project, sir. Yes, I jus.. read moreYes, I have heard of Submittable.
Also, this is not a vanity project, sir. Yes, I just started this company and I don't have that much of a following. But, you have to start somewhere. So, please quit bashing what i'm trying to do.
Also, I don't appreciate the ego comment. I am not trying to "please my ego". All I am doing is trying to give others the same opportunity that I had with getting their works published and trying to get their names out into the literary world some more. If you don't believe in it, then fine. But that doesn't mean you have to go after my character and insult something that I am trying to do for the benefit of other writers.

I'm just calling it like I see it kiddo. You haven't started a company, you just created a youtube .. read moreI'm just calling it like I see it kiddo. You haven't started a company, you just created a youtube page... a page that even my cat has more subscribers than.
At least be honest with yourself... you are trying to use other writers work to fill out your "publishing company". It's very obvious what you're goals are. If you truly wanted to help other writers you would focus on helping them write better, not using them to prop up your fake "publishing company". In reality those authors would be far better served and realistically critiqued by way of a professional editor from an actual publication... helping them get their work published there is what you should be doing if you actually cared. And all because you want to call your youtube page a "company" you want to give them false hope and provide no actual critique.
And don't play the "don't insult me" game. That's just pathetic. I haven't insulted you, I'm just pointing out the obvious... I think you're just sensitive because this is all about your ego... which isn't a good trait if you're trying to start a "publishing company". If you put something out to the public you have to be able to take criticism. Crying about insults will get you no where and only make you look like a crybaby.

You can't just start with 100,000 subscribers and 40 best selling titles under your belt. You have to start towards the bottom and work your way up. Also, congrats to your cat.
I'm not trying to, in your words, "prop up my fake publishing company" and yes, I do actually care.
I'm helping them build their foundation with getting their titles out and helping them with trying to build their platform so that way when they do try to submit to the big time publisher, they might have a better chance of getting published because they have that foundation of not only titles, but skills that they have learned as well like certain writing styles, the editing, marketing, etc.
All this company is is a way for writers to get their start in their publishing lives so they can eventually move on to the big time publisher and have a better chance of landing the book deal with them.
So, that is all I am going to say on the matter. If you don't like it, then I am sorry. I have told you only facts about what my company is and I am sorry that you don't seem to agree with those facts. Good day.
