But you did.A Poem by Jordan SmithThis poem is dedicated to a very special friend of mine. This person has been a major influence on my life this past year and I cannot thank this person enough for their allowing me to be a friend.I look back & reflect on the people that I've met, that I've laughed with, cried with and even danced with. I look back & reflect on the relationships I have with these people and I consider them my friends. I am grateful for these friends. If not for them, I am not the person I am today. But, when I look back & reflect, one person keeps showing up over and over again. They don't have to, but they do. This person impacted me more than I could have imagined. This person doens't have to, but they do. This person was there for me when I was down, weak and vulnerable. They didn't have to be, but they were. This person didn't have to meet for coffee and hear me go on about my life's misery, but she did. This person doesn't have to still keep in contact with me and see how i'm doing, but she does. This person didn't have to accept my invitation to a dance on a December's night, but she did. and I remember the night, The night where you didn't have to become my best friend, but you did.
