Loneliness

Loneliness

A Poem by Jordan Smith

The weekend comes
and you are thrilled to
be done with classes
for that week.

You race over
to your calendar
propped up on
your dresser.

But now you
wish you hadn't looked.
You discover that
just like every
weekend before that,
nothing is there.

Weekdays filled with studies,
weekends filled with seclusion.
Your social life is nonexistent.
Your love life is in agreeance.

Depression sets in
as abandonment contributes.
But unfortunately loneliness
consumes all inside you.

Night falls and you
are still in seclusion.
You turn out the lights
on a night of sadness.

You cry yourself
to sleep.
You wake up
once again and
it is next weekend.

I liked this poem..It actually describes our daily life..But actually I am not among those who hate their daily routines..It feels good when you have something to do..But after a certain point it may seem frustrating..You wrote it really well...
Keep on writing..

A sad truth to college life, it is lonely. Even if you have friends or family who live close, all of that work just keeps pushing you down. You speak for all of us who can't wait for college to be over. A great write :)

Your welcome. And I'm sure of it. It's kind of like being a new kid at a school. You have no friends.. read more
