LonelinessA Poem by Jordan Smith
The weekend comes
and you are thrilled to be done with classes for that week. You race over to your calendar propped up on your dresser. But now you wish you hadn't looked. You discover that just like every weekend before that, nothing is there. Weekdays filled with studies, weekends filled with seclusion. Your social life is nonexistent. Your love life is in agreeance. Depression sets in as abandonment contributes. But unfortunately loneliness consumes all inside you. Night falls and you are still in seclusion. You turn out the lights on a night of sadness. You cry yourself to sleep. You wake up once again and it is next weekend.
