Golden Nights

Golden Nights

A Poem by Jordan Smith
"

This poem is a tribute to the bells that ring at every hour on the Baylor University campus at night.

"
Trains screaming by,
the crickets chirping.
Peaceful winds
and calm nights.

Every hour a
chime is rung.
At that moment
Green and Gold illuminates.

It shines, it strives.
It rings, it echoes.
It lives, it breaths.
It glorifies and never dies.

These Golden nights
I cherish once more
As I am home
Forever more.

I love the perspective of this - I also love how you took something mundane and made it captivating and engaging without any doubt. Well penned :)

This is pretty cool actually. I wonder what the reason is behind your campus doing that at night. But I suppose that must be part of the mystery behind it, and writers do love mystery! It's simple and creates the feeling of joy, since work :)
