Four Letter Commitment

Four Letter Commitment

A Poem by Jordan Smith
"

Be sure to look for the only Letters that are capitalized in the first four stanzas in the poem and see what it spells...

"
Last minutes before
your life changes,
you start getting anxious,
you wonder if what you
are about to do is right.

On the other side
of the room, you have
a stranger standing, walking
towards you on a carpet
full of dreams and
flower petals of promise.

Valentines fill your heart
like sugar plums
dance around in
your head

Everyone is watching in secret
from a distance, waiting
for that special moment
when you ask her

Will you marry me?

Cool concept here. The spelling out of the primary emotion coupled with all of those other uncertainties/sense of nervousness perfectly encapsulates that feeling in itself. Good job with this one. Only thing I would change is the spelling of pedals to petals :)

Time to place your big bet in life. You capture that feeling very well.

High stakes, big emotions.

I like the image of a carpet full of dreams.

I loved this. I've never thought about what it would be like for the man watching his bride walk down the aisle. Very beautiful piece of writing (: keep up the good work!

Without even saying the word love in your poem, you've perfectly described it. Although the capitalized letters spell love, it just adds to the symbolism to this piece. Fantastic work :)
