The Man Who Wept

The Man Who Wept

A Poem by Jordan Smith

The Sun has set
The moon is light
All are at rest, except for
The Man who Wept

There he lies
The Man who Wept
Thoughts racing through his head
Like Reindeer racing through the night sky
The Man who Wept

All is still at rest
Except for The Man who Wept
How could he not rest
was one of mystery
and one of misery
The Man who Wept

A spark makes all thoughts
cease to exist
The Man who Wept
He discovers something
The Man who Wept

He discovers
Love
Clarity
Faith
Heart
The Man who Wept

He sits upright
and starts to think
The Man who Wept
He starts to cry
His red face
inside his tear catchers of his hands
The Man who Wept

He dries up his tears,
and begins to love,
The Man who Wept

He begins to feel
He begins to understand
The Man who Wept

"She moved through the fair
like the wind moves
through the air
and the ocean crashes the shore"
said The Man who Wept

"If love feels
as free as a dove,
then I am free and
I know my love."
He lays back down, now
with a grin and some rosy
cheeks upon his face, As he has
Now discovered his true love
for the lady with the long brown hair
makes the man feel at peace
The Man who Wept

a beautiful look into a sensative deep soul...the man who wept, one full of thought, emotion, promise and deep raw uncut love

I am not a huge fan of rhyming poetry, but this is effortless and its flow is impeccable. Profound message and awesome piece

It is like someone weeping because he has knowledge of the world. Like in the story "The Giver"
