Beautiful Lie

Beautiful Lie

A Poem by Hippy

Such a beautiful lie

Trying to hide on the outside

A wine which is water

So pure, so nice living lies

Trying to make the truth die

But impossible to deny shining facts

So dull, so innocent are their words that peirce me

So I must ask why, why bury me with lies

When only the truth is what I want unearthed

Do you think your kind

To build a beast to a man

But through actions show he is a beast

So please

Act as thy speak

Speak as thy act

Or speak not

I'm sorry for what is going through your head, though the thoughtful words that fill this poem relate to me especially well. :)

The execution of this idea is very, very good – it takes a lot of thought to make something sound that naturally put, when it’s probably come from a complex place. Only problem I had with it was the use of 'thy' unless you are using a quote that is from the time the term was in use, or it is for effect, I don't really see the need for archaic language, especially overused words like 'thy' - It makes what is quite unique, sound if I'm honest, pretentious.

Just my opinions, notable work all the same.
