"Most Wanted"

"Most Wanted"

A Poem by Kimberly Ellis

They were the outlaws in the oldest west with their very own wanted dead or alive posters

With horses and hideouts to make their escape.

To surrender or be captured by lawmen was never their fate

These men with bounties on their heads for their dreadful misdeeds .. that had been done with their trusty six shooters and sturdy shot guns

They were hoodlums in a city all their own

Wearing pin striped suits and snazzy, tipped hats

With their extra-long trench coats lined with machine guns - to match.

Both style and charm were a part of it all. An army of fearless hit men

That surely no Copper would try to detain

When the endless bursts of bullets from their Tommy Guns came.

They are the thugs on the streets with their colorfully symbolic rags and tats

Their ghetto grafitti telling the tale

An urban war is on the rise While the 9 mil's and semi-auto's of these hooded O.G.'s control who lives and who dies.

They are some of the most Notorious Gangsters of our times

Dangerous and deadly these men turned monsters have proven to be

What drove these infamous felons to their countless crimes?

Some say it was greed, hate or maybe even revenge Conscience free killers with glorified lifestyles and clout

Criminals with a death wish Living their lives without one bit of worry or doubt

They are true to the stereotypes that history has had us believe

But just how many heinous acts must be committed before the covetted "Most Wanted" status is achieved?
