--Next Day: June 16th--

The next day, we had to leave Kai alone for the day for school.

“Ugh… I’d rather stay with Kai than go to school!” I complained.

“Oh come on Auron, you can’t achieve anything without doing anything!” Lilianne protested. “Besides, Kai even said that we should tell him what he missed… And WE mean you also!”

“Ugh… Stop nagging…” We hear the bell, “Oh! We’re about to be late!!! Come on!”

By the time we reached school, it was a deserted area with little or no students. It seemed weird why the students didn’t come to school and seemed even more because some of the ‘smart’ people weren’t here. I asked my nearby classmate what happened to the other people, but the reaction I’d get is just a shrug from the shoulders.

The teacher barely taught us today, he didn’t even assign us homework to do, and it was the teacher that usually gives a medium to a large amount of homework. I asked him what was wrong, but he would shrug, like my classmate.

This is way beyond weird, this is (what’s a way synonym for weird?) a mystery! So I met up with Lilianne and complained, “This is beyond weird! Something must be wrong!” I kept complaining about the weirdness of the whole town. So we started to move back to Kai’s room in the hospital.

Once we reached Kai’s room, Lilianne faced me and smiled saying, “And you call me nagging?”

We entered the room and saw Kai eating his lunch. “Glad you came back. I was getting bored of the shows being shown…” He took another bite, “They removed all channels with news and education.”

“I get the news, but the education? What was that for?” Lilianne commented.

“I see what they’re trying to do… Since they know the town is going to be doomed some time, they don’t want to let the people of the town to realize the bitter truth that is going to get unfold.” I said.

            “How about educational channels?”

“I think the reason why is because some people might have created documentaries on this unknown compound that landed here and posted them at Education- Now or something.”

“Why not remove Education- Now than everything?”

“Excellent point, but other channels have the potential to spread this and therefore have been cancelled here.” I sighed, “Enough said.”

I decided to look out the window at the town square below and check how quiet it was. I wondered how much more quiet it’ll be in the future. I spent my time writing down possible theories and looking out the window till dinner. And while I was jotting down my theories, I also wondered why I was even doing that.

By dinner time, I decided to check the house just in case my sister was searching for me. “I’m home sis.” I said as I entered the house.

“Where’ve you been Auron?” She startled me with that question.

I had to make up another story, which was partially true, like my other one, “We were planning to meet at second block, but Kai didn’t appear. So we searched for him till we stumbled upon a sign saying that a young man had been injured and was sent to the hospital. We checked the room and it was Kai, but we couldn’t just leave him alone, so we slept with him.” Wow! I actually told the truth!

“Aw… Isn’t that sweet? I guess that is alright. You could have at least told me what you were going to do.” She sighed, “You have my permission to go with your friend, but don’t get malnourished out there, so bring a lot of food!”

“Thanks sis!” I rushed to my room to grab some stuff I needed to do to keep my fun level at maximum. I continued downstairs to get food and pack my bags to get a leave.

I started going back to the hospital and nothing stopped me till, I looked at the board and there was another piece of paper there that I did not see yesterday, I grabbed it and immediately continued on running back. As I reached the doorstep, I noticed, at an early time such as 6:00 PM, that there weren’t any nurses around. I opened the door and greeted my friends.

“Where’d you go Auron?” Lilianne immediately asked as I entered.

“I went to get permission from sis, get some things needed for me to keep sane and brought a lot of food!” I responded with joy.

The rest of the day, we played games till it was sleeping time like there wasn’t any school the next day. It doesn’t seem like we will learn anything new the next day. That night, was a memorable day that does not often happen in one’s lifetime. I think.
