Chapter 2: In-depth InvestigationA Chapter by RozeThe group search has begun! They look for books related to current problems but nothing appears. And something unexpected happens... I thought it was funny that I couldn’t find a single book on sleeping problems in the library. “I can’t find a book on sleeping problems here.” “If that wasn’t mysterious enough, I couldn’t find a single rock from the meteorite at the school grounds.” Lilianne said. “I checked the library for the books, I found some, but they don’t provide much information.” “I guess all we can do is proceed to the local library,” Kai suggested. “Something must be happening to the world and you’re the only one that sensed it first, Auron.” So we split up and went our own ways, I went home and thought about what was happening, till I had an idea to search about it in the internet. As expected and unusual, I didn’t see any sites that talked about the current happenings. When I do see sites, it would respond by, “Address is not valid.” The next day was Saturday. We got together and decided to visit the local library. We looked all over and asked the librarian for the books, but the librarian would just shake her head. “No luck.” Lilianne said. “I have an idea.” I suggested. “What is it?” Kai replied. “Why don’t we look at the site of the meteorite?” “Nice, but I don’t think we would be able to get there that easily.” “Well, I did my research; it’s on an isolated place in the middle of nowhere. At least that’s what I searched for.” “Let’s hurry.” Lilianne said. “We need as much time to get there and even more to investigate.” We started on our journey to the crash site. We took a few breaks to eat lunch and to pack some snacks. “Hey Auron! Are you done!? It’s nearly been 15 minutes!” Kai shouted at the doorstep. I went out and brought out a bag filled with supplies, “Just in case, for starvation purposes. I also brought supplies for the investigation!” This time, we ACTUALLY started our journey to the crash site. We took a few more stops on places we haven’t been to before. For example, the bread store on the crossroads at the middle of the town. It also seemed weird that the town square wasn’t filled with people and some stores were closed on that day too. By a few hours later we arrived at the crash site. “We’re finally here! Let’s start the investigation!” I said with relief. --A few hours later-- “Whew, I don’t notice anything unusual…” I said depressingly. “I think the unusual things have been--” Lilianne started. “Removed? At such a far place from town? I don’t think they’d do that… You know the town’s government; lazy, no-progress type of people.” I said. “You may have a point there Auron, but don’t be hasty, this could be a top secret file, so I think that someone outside power forced the government to clean up the site. Not only that, but to block of all sites and books to the people till the investigation is over.” Kai said with a knowledgeable voice, which got me thinking. “I was just thinking…” Everyone sighed as if I was going to make another dumb, useless statement, “Yeah I know… But listen for once. It might be out of reality, but at least it has some reason to it. Here I go.” I sighed, “Do you think the reason why they removed books about the meteor is because it might be the end of the town?” “Keep going, I think this ones going to be good, right Lilianne?” Kai said. “Yeah, I like the way this is going… Auron, actually thinking for once… Quite an achievement.” Lilianne commented, “Anyways, why the end of the town?” “Don’t get ahead of me.” I started, “Maybe the meteor has some unknown compound in the rocks that have been scattered, so they had to be eradicated for the townsfolk’s own safety. Or the safety of the government.” “The safety of the government?” Kai questioned. “Yes, if they kept the rocks there and the people of the town did not know of the unknown compound which would one day kill them, the survivors who did not go near the rocks will sue the government. The key to the end of town is within the unknown compound.” © 2010 RozeAuthor's Note
