Take the High Road

Take the High Road

A Poem by Aurora Masquerade
"

I used to hate the people that were mean to me. I have gotten far past them. Now I simply sit and wonder what made them do that? Did something terrible happen to them to cause such behavior? Who knows

"

Why?

Do you act worried about me,

If you only put me down

You don’t really care

You just want to see me fall

What have I ever done to you?

Help me to understand

Take the high road

Be the better man

Let you demons go

Don't let them hurt you anymore

and stop hurting others

There isn't reason for your words

It will only make it worse

You can be strong

You can be kind

You just have to find it in yourself

Take the high road

It will be better in the end

If that person worries about you, he does care about you. There is a strong contradiction in your poem which suggests confusion. So do not give up but try to get to the core of it.

Well done.

Is this about someone specific? I am just curious, you don't have to answer that. I know that this was what you were feeling at the time so I am not trying to put you down when I say this, but anyone who worries about you cares and loves you. Remember that, I used to think the same thing, that people were only acting that way because they didn't want me to live my life or enjoy the things I wanted to do, but honestly they were just looking out for me and I see that now since I have grown up a little bit. This is a good poem though, short and speaks such emotion.
