The Mother Speaks

The Mother Speaks

A Poem by Kayla
"

W.B. Yeats inspired

"

Run away, O child of mine

With me into eternal summertime

In wits the darkness turn to light

An endless flight, to smoother night

Where faeries and black birds sing,

Of life’s more simpler things, and

Where my womb is ne’er bare,

And my children be e’er fair

dje, dje, dje

May you wake, now you’ve died

Dje, dje, dje

Awash ye now, with blessed tides

Dje, dje, dje

For no one here can tell you lies.

Just beautiful Kayla.
A nice and sharp expression here,
Inspiring poem, with a glimpse of music through.

I love it.

beautiful and tender. I enjoyed this one very much. The love and tenderness of a mother, also the mysterious ways of woman, in this case, a mother. I reads like a song. beautiful!

The earthy tones of his writing can be seen here. The final two lines read like a last right. They bring closure, but they also provide guidance in the next phase of life.

This poem reminds me of the legends I have read about the summer land. Like those legends, it flows well and has a solid rhythmic structure.
