A Night In-BetweenA Poem by KaylaA night up in Boulder, when I saw the most amazing thing...
A Night In-Between
I can sense the darkness falling,
into worlds, the voices calling.
Shadows of imagination, or maybe not,
all I felt and all I thought
seems lost now; in-between
where all is forgotten and wishes to be seen.
How I would love to enter there,
forget myself and just not care.
Dance with the fea; grow old before my time
only seeing raw nature and speaking in rhymes.
Or enter into a world long ago forsaken,
where I can flourish and become awakened.
Only then do the walls enclose,
leaving me confused, vulnerable, and exposed.
Holding to glimpses of mysteries I have yet to learn,
willing the present to show itself on the wings of the tern.
But I only have time to wish,
when it is my turn to be free and impish.
Alone at night, now, shaken and weary
what is my mortality, suddenly so dreary?
