LOG #12

Year 2012. The Dwarf Month. Problem solving exam.

I put the cursor over my character's head. Short hair, brushed back in a gelatinious mess. A slightly round face. Grape. Yes, just like a grape. A moustache that did not belong.A pair of sharp slanted eyes that uncomfortably hid behind a pair of slim square glasses which augmented my vision by a considerable amount. A great item I once bought from a prodigious shaman in Surrgary. I never thought I would have to use them, but after my battle with a deceptive troll of Sulphary (a famous swamp known to be infested by these trolls) who kept tampering with my eyesight with his cunning magic, my left eye was less useful.

I scrolled down to my character's body.A 5"7 scrawny caucasian teenager with unusually small hands. He was wearing a beige shirt and a pair of dark brown trousers. On the left breast of the shirt was the globally known insignia of the guild he was part of. He wore it with pride. A pair of expensive black shoes were his trusted steed. He carried all of the items he had scavenged and bought in a black backpack. This backpack had been crafted with the skin of a rare breed of Raikon Lion he had found of one of his adventures.

I scrolled up to where his name was displayed and put my cursor on it. The word "Chungito" lit up in a bright green font. Above that in a glitterring blue font read "Member of the AL Guild, 14th division".

"Pedro! Hurry up! Your magic exam is today, remember?!"

A voice from downstairs roared at me. I stepped away from the mirror and calmly walked down the stairs of doom with my backpack strapped to one of my shoulders, strolled by the hall of quarrels and exited the building through the flashy portal that led to the dull world others refferred to as "real world".

"Yes, I have all day so why don't you just take your time."

A voice from from inside a white machina vehicle with four doors called out. I accelerated my pace and swiftly got into the front seat of the machina vehicle.

"Jesus Pedro, why do you do everything so nonchalantly"

A voice spoke right beside me. I looked to my left and saw the origin of this high pitched authoritative voice. A brown woman, in her late 30's was sitting on the controls of the machina vehicle. She was the housekeeper and the mistress of anything that dwelled inside it. She would rule with an iron fist. She was also an amazing source of information. She awnsered every single one of the questions I constantly asked her. She was also my creator.

She swiftly handled the controls of the machina vehicle and put us on course for the AL Guild base.

"You better do well on today's maths exam, you hear me Pedro? I didn't see you studying one bit this weekend", she snapped.

"I did study, you just happened to see me when I was playing video games" , I replied, raising my voice.

My head shot forward, and I felt a sharp pain on its back. I stared at her with anger in my eyes. But kept my mouth shut as she put her hand back on the wheel.

"Don't you raise your voice at me brat"

The rest of the trip was silent.

"Pedro! ''Suuup! Did you do the english homework? Mind if I take a peek?"

I opened my Raikos Lion skin backpack and carefully pulled out two sheets of paper and handed it to him. His name was iAoE (real world code name: Adrian). Caucasian, slightly taller than me and rocked an awesome goatee. He was what people would refer to as my "best friend". Correction. Only friend.

"Thanks man! You really saved me here"

He pulled out his notebook and started to rapidly copy what was written on my sheets of paper. I couldn't blame him. Those two sheets of paper contained an extremely intrricate analysis on the blacksmithing book the smithing department of the AL Guild base had given us. So I let him copy everything.

RRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIING

The bell went off. This meant it was time for the problem solving exam. The AL Guild insisted this department to be crucial in our lifes.

"Well, here comes another F. I wonder when they will understand that I cannot do maths at all", Adrian said in a defeated tone.

I chuckled whilst I prepared the tools I would be using for this exam. I always had everything I needed. I was always prepared.

The head of the Problem Solving department (Sir Suarez) waltzed in the room with a pile of papers, which I had to give out to each member of the guild. I felt my heart beat abnormally faster for the 10 seconds I had to stand near Daniella, one of the members of the same division I am in, the 14th.

"Hi Pedro" , She smiled at me.

"H-Hey, how you doin'" I stuttered while I awkwardly waved my hand slightly.

I sat back down and awaited for Sir Suarez's signal to start the exam.

"Start writing now""

I started awnsering as many questions as I could, when suddenly I heard

"Stop writing now"

I stood up, turned in my awnser sheet and put away my black Giant Squid ink pen and walked outside where everyone discussed how well or how bad they had done. I sat down on the floor and layed against a wall in front of the door. I held my position until iAoE walked out, moving his horizontal hand back and forth right in front of his neck, signalling he had failed completely.

"Hey lets skip the rest of school today"

"Sure" I awnsered calmly.

We one strapped our backpacks and nonchalantly walked out through the front gate of the AL Guild Base. Our stealth skill was so high that we didn't even need to try hard to get out of the base.

We slowly walked away from the base.iAoE went on and on about this girl he met called Riscel (real world code name: Rose). We ventured into the rocky coast of the island we currently inhabited and sat right above the ocean.

He went on and on about Riscel while I slowly lost myself in the beautiful sound of the waves crashing into the coast. I put my schoolbag behind me and laid my head on it. I stared at the light blue sky, littered with dense white clouds. I started giving each cloud a shape. That one's a bull. That one's an alien. Oh, that one's a dinosaur who is missing one of his legs because that other dinosaur with the chainsaw just chopped it off. That's another alien.

And I fell asleep.
