Ten Seconds Until Midnight

Ten Seconds Until Midnight

A Poem by -Aurelia Mirella
"

Just a little poem about my 2009 New Year's experience.

"

Ten Seconds Until Midnight

Ten more seconds and then change will be here

The ball will drop and start the New Year

All around the square, everyone will sing, dance, and cheer

People from all over, from far and from near.

Nine more seconds quickly turns into eight

My excitement is strong, my mind elate

Oh how long must we wait

My heart will surely explode beating at such a large rate!

Seven seconds turns to six,

Five to four,

Never have I experienced such an event before!

Three! We all shout grabbing each other

Two! We belt out, kissing one another

One!

That is it, the year is done

A new day has formed, another year has begun.

Great poem!
Although I wished I read it on the new year's eve, it still hasn't lost it's charm!
