This is a writing that was composed for and will be read at my church's Christmas Eve service. Feedback on this one would be greatly appreciated.

Author's Note

Mother Maggie
Beneath the darkness
Pure white drifting snow
Wind whispered promises
Caress the blanketed world

In their slumber
The children of Earth Mother
Dream

Not of sugarplums
Not of sleds
Not of snow fairies

They dream of new beginnings
They dream of darkness passing
They dream of the light
The returning sun and springtime

Here at the balance point
Light and dark are one
The lightness of the snow
The darkness of the winter sky
We rest knowing
The sun is returning
