Of Oaks, Willows and Mushrooms
A Poem by Mother Maggie

Oak stands tall—solid against the wind
unyielding, unmoved—braced against the tempest
a mighty colossus – a towering giant
Willow dances with the raging storm
bending, yielding, swaying—graceful, supple
following the will of the breath of Goddess
Mushroom grows in the fallen log
Oak or Willow matters not—both feed her
whom they once sheltered—her gray flesh
represents nourishment, gnosis and renewal
Willow and Oak, she who yields-she who yields not
yield to the cycle of life

And what a wondrous cycle it is. As these wise, lovely words reveal, there is a one-ness, a common theme that runs throughout nature.
