Mother Maggie
Oh Wall Street, there’s changes comin’
The workers have just said ‘NO!’
Some fight for the highest bidder
When they march, some blood may flow

Gotta get down to it
Your gluttony is pushin’ us down
Change should’ve come long ago
Gotta get down to it
Too many sleep on the ground
How many homeless?...Do ya know?

Na…na-na-na…na-na…na-na
Na…na-na-na…na…na…na

Na…na-na-na…na-na…na-na
Na…na-na-na…na…na…na

Gotta get down to it
Their greed is keepin’ us down
Change should’ve come long ago
Gotta get down to it
So many asleep underground
When we’re all homeless, where will we go?

World Market, there’s changes comin’
Mother Earth will you depose
Listen close and you’ll hear the drummin’
Our march towards freedom grows

Gotta get down to it
No fears are keepin’ us down
Change comes hard don’t you know

Na…na-na-na…na-na…na-na*
Na…na-na-na…na…na…na*

Na…na-na-na…na-na…na-na*
Na…na-na-na…na…na…na*

Listen close and you’ll hear the drummin’*
Our march towards freedom grows*

most excellent,
Maggie you always stir strong emotion when you write, I have come to both respect it and expect it. I can rarely touch subjects of great importance, but you make it seem to come with ease. I hear the drums, we wish them not to be of war, but that is a decision people will not be the ones to make.
Love it mags.
Sincerely

Stirring piece. Great time to be alive. To feel this change as it is taking place. To connect more directly with wholeness, healing and our ability to transcend the lack of conciousness. I see encouraging signs everywhere, that such failures are being recognised and heeded, but theres still a long way to go.

I just love this, Maggie! There a lot of sentiments here that I completely agree with and feel. Greed has overrun our country and tore it down to nothing that would be recognizable to our ancestors. It is embarrassing how the world views us.

Great piece. Do you sing? I'd love to see or hear you performing this!
