Ineluctable Modality

Ineluctable Modality

A Poem by Devashish Kumar

convinced it would find its way around
to wherever it was supposed to go
it went round and round and round

perched on the rim of soap dish aground
it sniffed around with its antennae
convinced it would find its way around

with a madness unsound
tirelessly and mindlessly
it went round and round and round

drowned in self-righteousness profound
as if it, only it, knew the right thing
convinced it would find its way around

to its truth it was ineluctably bound
like a serpent devouring its own tail
it went round and round and round

knowledge without doubt spellbound
to single minded determination
convinced it would find its way around
it went round and round and round
