Daddy Come HomeA Poem by Audrey NicoleA young girl only sees her father over a computer screen
Dad come home
I only see you over a computer screen I cry every night I go to bed Mom is busy and she never has time for me I pray every night that I see your face again the next day I look at your stunning pictures in your uniform I cant focus at school because I am worried I wish that I was on this deadly trip I dont care I just want to be with you so badly You put your hand on the screen and tell me that you love me I asked you so many times when you were coming home You responded with the word soon every time That wasnt the answer I was looking for I was looking for tomorrow. When you said you loved me It was the same day I cried I read the grave carvings everyday John H. Lewis 1968-2011 Gold Bless America You broke your promise I broke mine too. I said I wouldnt kill myself if you came home You didnt. You dont have to worry because your standing right next to me at the gates of Heaven. © 2011 Audrey NicoleAuthor's Note
