Rafael's Fugue

Rafael's Fugue

A Poem by Audra Ybarra

Consider the beams of sunlight as rays of love
shining down on you from someone special  above
and when drops fall from the sky
consider them kisses from an angel in flight
rolling into the oceans and seas
walking on the beach
 waves crashing at your feet
Consider them hugs of relief
feeling the sand between your toes
that is when you will know
She wants your heart to be light and joyful again
She doesn’t want to see you in pain
let those waves soothe your soul
breath the air and just let go
Signs of her love show wherever you go
memories of her that no one but you knows

When the days light falls and stars have begun to glow
feel her love in the shining moon
the stars reaching out to you
She knows your heart will never be the same
she knows the pain you feel whenever you say her name

She  wants you to know she is with you wherever you are
in the sun, moon, and the stars
in the wind, with the birds in the trees
in all the beautiful things like her, an angel with wings.
