Two Sides (Posted: August 6, 2021)

A Poem by Audie G. Couch

So many voices,

It’s hard to remember what was told.

Knifes, in the form of words.

Sharp, cold.

Who’s yelling now.

With all the chatter, and white noise,

I can not hear.

Is it this person, or that one over there.

The vicious outrage, a dangerous dance,

Saying things one can not take back.

Thinking it over, “what a fool”,

Yet you can’t forget that

An argument takes two.

Your welcome Frederick.
Thanks for reading and commenting.
A.
When the yelling starts, all bets are off. People do say things in the haze of rage that they regret later, but sometimes irreparable damage is done. If only humans came equipped with a "disengage" button.

I agree. Thanks for taking the time to read my piece John.
It is so true a statement. It does take two. With this day an age the sharing of ideas is no longer possible. It's more about who can shout the loudest and be more insufferable in their disrespectful manner. Truth no longer exists as a measure of a valid point. Trolling is seen as a virtue to quite a few. Our society is crumbling beneath the weight of our hatred for one another. Our only hope is in the youth. These can't be the guiding principles we pass on to them. We must be better than that. Thank you for sharing your work.

I agree completely. Your review is greatly appreciated. Thanks Carlos
Love your posted image which matches your words perfectly. Yes it takes two to argue and in full flight it can become viscious. Once said those words can't be taken back. And words can hurt like hell and can be remembered forever. Open wounds heal quicker. Enjoyed this short poem.
