The Earth Speaks (Posted: Dec. 13, 2020)

A Poem by Audie G. Couch

The earth speaks to me,
from the depths of every ocean;
from the highest tip of every tree,
from the face of the mountain;
from a tinny bumble bee.
Thus, I listen close,
When the earth speaks to me.
Miserable from misuse and battery,
her blood; dark red, I can see.
I hear her wails,
I can hear her screams.
Lately, we've discussed tales of her pain;
When the earth speaks to me.
"You, who listen when I speak,
Hone your prying ears now, and
My secrets you will keep."
"Tell me what you have to say,
Ancient one...please."
So, she told me many things;
because I listen when the earth speaks to me.

I agree dear Audie. If we listen to the sea, the forest and the river. We can hear great song and wisdom.
"Tell me what you have to say,
Ancient one...please."
So, she told me many things;
because I listen when the earth speaks to me."
I liked the above lines. I listen to the wind and the sea song is so beautiful. Thank you dear poet for sharing the amazing poetry.
