Baby Brother (Posted: Dec. 7, 2020)

Baby Brother (Posted: Dec. 7, 2020)

A Poem by Audie G. Couch

Since the first time I saw your little fingers, and toes
I just wanted to help you grow,
And grown you have;
Into a fine, strong young man.
Knowing this helps me to feel less sad,
That your baby years have come, and passed.
I love you baby brother, and for me
You must know there could be no other.
You are one of kind,
A gem, a jewel.
Deep inside my heart
There isn't a string you couldn't pull.
There you will forever remain,
The memories of you, untainted, claimed.

A delightful write about the love you have for your baby brother now grown. I can relate having two brothers myself. One sadly no longer with us, who was a year younger than me and was my childhood best friend. The other, 13 years younger who was thebaby of the family and mothered by his three sisters. Your poem reminded me of the importance of strong family bonds. Thank you for sharing.
