As Our Demons DemandA Poem by :-)DERPAs cold and sharp as an iron gate Evil has come and sealed my fate Your hunger, this hunger, I can't yet sate Stop the bleeding, it's not too late Stalk and close in for the kill As I swallow down another pill Flesh thrown upon the windowsill Buried bones on quiet hills Close the doorway to Despair Whose body feels as light as air Run my fingers through your hair Even though you know I'd never care Wear the bloodied, tattered sash Over the wounds, sores of the past Like a kind of glue that held our mask Every heartbeat seems our last Nights where I held your battered hand Days which I buried in the sand Old friend, please now, understand I'll kill your trust as you demand
