Memory of a ghost

Memory of a ghost

A Poem by The Girl with the smile
"

Reoccurring dreams of a past love...

"

Dear dream walker,

You have been tormenting me

For countless nights

I wish to forget you

You won’t let me

As I close my eyes

Your silhouette appears

A beautiful nightmare

A demon in the darkness

I give you my love willingly

Arms holding me close

Warm and safe

Lips whispering

Together forever

Feeling as if reality was only an illusion

Thinking this world I’m in now

Must be the only truth

I reach over and touch your face

Were happy

I quickly wake up

Tears streaming

Anger filling my chest

I don’t want to feel this way about you

Seeing us once upon a time

A connection woven close together

Now frayed and fallen apart

It kills me

I’m wondering ghost of mine

Do I haunt you as well

Or am I the only one

Foolishly dreaming

Love, someone who wishes they didn’t

P.S. See you soon
