You're the storm before the calmA Poem by The Girl with the smileA dream I had....Darkened skies Filling the cracks That the silence Can’t seem to cover Electric paintbrushes Lighting up pale faces Fevered and panicked I jump at the intrusive sound Of bowling balls and whips I turn to my right You’re next to me Concern masks your features Causing baby blues To swell and crack waves As the next golden firework Coats the shadows My hand absent mindedly Lands on top of yours Butterflies fill my veins I blush As your gaze holds mine Nearly crushing it I’m left to wonder What will be my downfall? Your hurricane eyes? Or the approaching storm? Either way I’m drowning in blue © 2013 The Girl with the smile |
