As I Sit

As I Sit

A Poem by Atton Brown
"

A poem about ...her

"

I close my eyes and plow through

Every thought, every action, everything was you

But you left, your choice

Ignored me and my voice

I love you, no past tense

I sit here, trying to make sense

of it all. Hearing our song

Wondering where I went wrong

1, 2, 3, 4

Those lyrics aren’t the same anymore

I wonder if you still feel or ever

Felt, I never

Could have made it without you

Always, forever, love becomes doubt. You

Changed me for better or not

I didn’t know it, but I sit in this spot

Sending up prayers, searching for solace

Still looking for a reason in all this

I feel the wind blowing

Like it’s knowing

What’s next

What’s best

And I smile

Cuz i know I’ll

See you again

Even if you’re "just a friend"

I haven't heard that song but this is a good write, full of feeling and with a glimpse of hope...
