False Studies

False Studies

A Poem by Atoosa

The genuines come,

they inscribe their originality,

and they go.

In our school several courses are taught:

On how to become genuine

On what it is to be a genuine

On where are the genuines

On when these genuines became genuines

On which elements make genuines , genuines

I do not quit studying

But I will quit my school today,

I am quitting my school right now.

Again the sentiment of this is immense. Loved it. Looked at the syntax of offer this:
The genuine come,
they inscribe their originality,
and they go.
In our school several courses are taught:
On how to become genuine
On what it is to be a genuine
On who are the genuine?
On how these genuine became genuine
On which elements make one genuine
I do not quit studying
But I will quit my school today,
I am quitting my school right now.

Dear Atoosa

A brief review by my standards? We shall see!

Like your piece - in both cases short (mine 'ish'), in yours sweet but as you wish in my case genuine.

False words you say.

Teaching and being taught. The stuff not just of school and of growing up; the stuff of life.

What to pick to believe? What to pick to disbelieve?

You dip into the philosophy of life.

Genuine; false.

A few quick comments:

The way you change the same question builds up the sense of frustration I can see in you about the stuff they force down your throat every day.

But funny you list all except one. You do 'how', 'what', where', 'when'. You even take 'what' and enrich it with a 'which'.

But do you know the essential question you have missed - and here is the human condition and philosophy of life coming out?

Atoosa, you have missed 'Why?'

Why do they teach the stuff they teach and why do you choose to learn the stuff you choose to learn?

At the depth of all philosophy only one question figures large and it is why.

Why are we here on earth? Why do we live; to what purpose?'

Every religion of every race of all time, all of us, ask ourselves the question.

We can all give lengthy answers of heartfelt belief.

But if you ever sit a philosophy exam and the question is to write on the subject 'Why' you should simply write in response 'Why not?' and then you can leave the exam room.

But I recommend you do not leave school. However idiotic teachers may be, we all are at times. If we don't learn by seeing their point and the good they do, we can also learn by seeing that they have no valid point and ensure we never become like them.

End of essay.

Good writing, well expressed and with lots of teeming questions we all need to ask ourselves every day underlying it all.

My take.

And with my kindest regards as ever

James

A interesting poem. School teaches us many things. Good to learn about all things. A well rounded person in education can defeat all things tossed at them. I wondered why we study some things? Good to know history and language. Few genuine in real life. We must do our best. A good poem. Made me think this morning.

that is a genuinely sad state of affairs.

you can't teach genuine...it is innate.

nice piece.
