Washed Away

Washed Away

A Poem by Xanthous Crow

Spent my days chasing dreams like butterflies
Dancing in the sky, encircled by
Cotton-swab clouds
Atop carpets of grass, so soft
And perfect
The colors were so bright
So alive
I could touch them
But then
You were away
Washed away
By Neptune's azure hand
The waters swept it all away
Now the
Colors are gone
Everything is wet and
Faded
Worn and tired
Like me
Somebody tell me
Will I ever
See those beautiful colors
Again?
Will I be invigorated again?
With the blessing of youth
Watch the world with
Pure eyes
Wide
Taking in the resplendent valor of colors
And life
Didn't seem so bad

Wow. Favorite bit: "Watch the world with; Pure eyes; Wide; Taking in the resplendent valor of colors; And life; Didn't seem so bad". Its just so powerful.

Washed away...or just to the side. The memory is vivid so no, it will never leave you, and every night, or day, or moment, you can recall those subtle feeling and faded sights so brigh in your yearning mind.
Excellent write, thank you.
