GloamA Poem by Xanthous CrowI danced as hard as I could,
Today. Under the sunlight. I loved, I lived, I laughed. But that quickly changed. The clouds came rolling in. Leaden things, Bearing immense weight, Blanketing the sun. The breeze died, As did the color, And the pretty little flowers withered away. I was left naked And frozen, cold. I watched the sun burn away, Leaving only darkness behind. And I no longer laughed, or loved. But was I still alive? It was a transition. From dawn to dusk, Life to death, The darkness takes everything away. All I've ever loved, The trinkets and things I've cherished, All vanished in the gloam. Will the sun come back again? Surely it must! In tandem waltz with the moon! But I'd rather it not. I am home here. A creature of the gloom. © 2012 Xanthous CrowReviews
