Dreamhouse

A Poem by Xanthous Crow

Running, always running
A labyrinth of darkness
A trap most cunning
Trapped, a fate most heartless.
A waking nightmare
Doomed to wander eternal
On the verge of breakdown, despair!
A dreamworld of hellish visions, infernal!
Why am I stuck here?
Traumatized with horrific scenes!
Will this darkness be never made clear?
A half-world of gossamer screens and grotesque human-figurines.
My mind forever imprisoned within a gibbet of fear;
In stasis, doomed to die
I believe that I will never escape.
Oh, how I miss you, evening sky!
I wish for a new life, one fresh to reshape.
