A Realization

A Realization

A Poem by Xanthous Crow
"

.

"
As I sat
Nursing a beer that has
Long since gone warm
The chatter of the bar slowly creeps in
The room beginning to spin
And I realize
That life is a scary thing
You say one thing one year
And do another the next
Where has the certainty gone?
Has it fled with consistency,
On the promise of chasing that
Beautiful sunset of dreams?
And, yet, I couldn't help but feel
Energized
As the alcohol and noise
Powered through my system
I'm alive
I made it
When they said I never would

Very well concucted and tied together. Short and sweet. This poem has a very nice set-out and I find extremely relatable to and has a beautiful finishing touch to it. Well done!
